Baby Face

Alfred E. Green | 1933 | 1 hr 11 min | subtitles

Play TrailerHollywood Summer NightsIMDB

One of the most notorious films from the pre-Code Hollywood era, BABY FACE stars Barbara Stanwyck as a tenacious young woman who uses her charms to ascend the corporate ladder. Heavily censored at the time of its release, BABY FACE was pulled from theaters after being protested by theater owners and censorship boards. Luckily, a print of the original, uncensored film was found at the Library of Congress and the restored version provides better motivation for Stanwyck’s hardboiled character. A young John Wayne makes an appearance in a minor role. Presented in 35mm with a vintage pre-show, including a newsreel, trailors, and cartoon. Preserved by the Library of Congress.
