Join us as we celebrate the contributions women are making to our local independent film community. This curated lineup of short films features some of the best work from up-and-coming artists as well as industry professionals in the Greater Philadelphia area. The screening will be followed by a moderated Q&A discussion with participating filmmakers led by award winning director, Lauren Wolkstein.

The Performance (2017) dir. Tatyana Yassukovich
The Three Sisters: the Director Father, the Dying Mother and the Faithless husband, a mother dying and husbands are hard to keep. In a Theatre Family, everyone has their role to play. The final act in Writer/Director, Tatyana Yassukovich's, short film trilogy focusing on the world of theatre.

Walking Home (2009) dir. Nuala Cabral
Walking Home is an experimental film about women facing street harassment. Shot in Brooklyn and Philadelphia, it mixes 16mm film, video, poetry and music in an effort to honor and reclaim our voice, name and humanity in the public sphere. This is for the walkers, talkers and those who say nothing.

A World Apart (2018) dir. Emily Pigeon
Henry, a man who longs for more, is stuck in the same place he always has been. Working in a mattress shop, Henry stumbles upon an unexpected adventure when he meets Eve. Eve changes Henry's life with colored hair, twisted logic and a bed in the middle of the woods but is the fairytale world she moves in real? Or is she as happy as she seems?

Vessel (2016) dir. Stephanie Yuhas
Pregnant Molly has more than the natural amount of anxiety regarding her unborn twins. With her husband stationed overseas, she must rely on her mother to help her get through her chronic nightmares and hallucinations. It not until she meets a strange, somewhat familiar woman in the waiting room that Molly wonders if something more nefarious is at hand.

Social Butterfly (2013) dir. Lauren Wolkstein
A 30-year-old American woman enters into a teenage party in the South of France. Some of the guests wonder who she is and what she is doing there. Social Butterfly was an Official Selection into the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.

Followed by a moderated Q&A discussion with participating filmmakers. Free for members.
